UPNG Simbu Student Society Membership Terms & Conditions

Welcome to the UPNG Simbu Student Society (UPNGSSS). By registering as a member, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of membership. Please read them carefully.

1. Membership Eligibility

  • Membership is open to all students currently enrolled at the University of Papua New Guinea who originate from Simbu Province, Papua New Guinea.
  • Proof of enrollment and Simbu origin may be required upon registration or at any time during membership.
  • Associate membership may be granted to non-Simbu students or alumni on a case-by-case basis, subject to executive committee approval.

2. Code of Conduct

  • Members are expected to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity, personal conduct, and respect for all individuals within the university and wider community.
  • Any form of discrimination, harassment, bullying, or misconduct is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate suspension or termination of membership.
  • Members must adhere to the rules and regulations of the University of Papua New Guinea.

3. Privacy Policy

  • Personal information collected during registration (e.g., name, district, year of study, faculty, email) will be used solely for the purpose of managing UPNGSSS membership, communication, and society activities.
  • Your data will not be shared with third parties without your explicit consent, except as required by law.
  • We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal data.

4. Use of Society Resources

  • Members may access and utilize society resources (e.g., study materials, mentorship programs, event facilities) as made available by the executive committee.
  • Resources must be used responsibly and in accordance with any specific guidelines provided.

5. Participation in Activities

  • Members are encouraged to actively participate in UPNGSSS events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Participation in certain activities may require additional registration or adherence to specific event rules.

6. Amendments to Terms

  • The UPNGSSS Executive Committee reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
  • Members will be notified of any significant changes through official society communication channels. Continued membership after such notification constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

7. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Papua New Guinea.
