In Memory of Our Late Patron

Late Ps. Paul Gigmai

Late Ps. Paul Gigmai

10+ Years Serving Patron of UPNG Simbu Student Society (Deceased)

It is with deep respect and gratitude that we honor the memory of our late Patron, Ps. Paul Gigmai, who served our society with unwavering dedication for over a decade. His passing on November 28, 2025, left a void in our hearts and in our community.

For more than 10 years, Ps. Paul poured his life into nurturing and supporting Simbu students at UPNG. His love for the people of Simbu and his commitment to the society were evident in every counsel he gave, every prayer he offered, and every student he mentored. He was a father, a guide, and a pillar of strength to generations of Simbu students.

We honor his tremendous service, his legacy of love, and the countless lives he touched. He will forever remain in our hearts as the longest-serving patron who gave his all for the people of Simbu.

Rest in peace, dear Patron. Your legacy lives on.

Current Patron Status: We do not currently have a patron. The society is in the process of identifying a suitable patron who can continue the legacy of service and guidance that our late Patron exemplified. An announcement will be made once a new patron is appointed.

A Life of Service to Simbu Students

Pastor Paul Gigmai's journey as Patron of the UPNG Simbu Student Society spanned over a decade, making him the longest-serving patron in our history. His dedication went far beyond the title – he was present at every major event, every student gathering, and every moment of need.

He opened his home and his heart to students, providing not just guidance but also financial support, spiritual counsel, and fatherly care. Many graduates today credit their success to his mentorship and encouragement during their university years.

His love for Simbu Province and its people was unmatched. He believed deeply in the potential of every Simbu student and worked tirelessly to ensure that potential was realized. His legacy continues to inspire our society's mission and values.

"He didn't just serve as a patron; he served as a father to all Simbu students." – 2025 Executives
