In Loving Memory

Late Ps. Paul Gigmai

In Loving Memory of Our Late Patron, Ps. Paul Gigmai

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Patron, Pastor Paul Gigmai, who went to be with the Lord on November 28, 2025, after a short illness.

Pastor Paul was not just a Patron; he was a father, a mentor, and a guiding light to the UPNG Simbu Student Society for over a decade. For more than 10 years, he dedicated his life to nurturing and supporting Simbu students at the University of Papua New Guinea. His unwavering commitment, wisdom, and fatherly love touched the lives of hundreds of students who passed through our society.

He was the longest-serving patron in the history of our society, and his legacy of service, compassion, and leadership will forever remain etched in our hearts. Pastor Paul believed deeply in the potential of every Simbu student and worked tirelessly to ensure we had the support, guidance, and encouragement needed to succeed academically and personally.

His home was always open to students seeking advice, comfort, or simply a warm meal. He exemplified what it meant to be a servant leader, and his impact on our community cannot be overstated.

As we mourn this tremendous loss, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the countless lives he transformed. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest in peace, dear Patron. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in every student you mentored and every life you touched.
